RR #5 Panel Presentation Blurb Group 5 (due 4/18/2016 and 4/25/2016)

The purpose of this posting area is two-fold:
1.     You are to post a response that delivers the title of your project followed by a short blurb that describes your project.

            Here’s an example:

Underlying Problems Associated with Writing in Workplaces: Fear and Lack of Culture
Scholars and pundits lament lacking writing abilities for workplace situations, but an exploration of workplace cultures embodying ‘good writing’ as part of the company’s core mission reveals important results. A trio of case studies explores workplace writing cultures at fortune 500 companies to identify best practices involved in cultivating positive writing cultures.

2.     In addition to your own blurb, you are tasked with coming up with a title and subsequent blurb that represents the entire group. You are tasked with making a second posting that names the group of projects and delivers a blurb to describe the panel. The best group description will be used in the program for the final presentation, and the person who delivers the most effectively written description will earn a 4 point bonus on the final presentation.

  2. Fossil Fuels and Clean Energy

Fossil fuels are the worlds leading source of energy although they are damaging to the environment. This year being one of the warmest ever people are starting to take notice, burning of fossil fuels like oil, coal, and natural gas causes pollution and increases global temperature. Renewables energy's like wind and solar are still fairly new but can produce the same energy as fossil fuels with no pollution. Through my research I'm looking at benefits and drawbacks of fossil fuels and clean energy. In my study I'm synthesizing all of the information I have gathered to answer the following question. Can fossil fuels be efficiently replaced by renewable energy sources?

  3. Today, politics plays a big role in our society, and so does Hollywood. Hollywood and the creative industry brings in about $504 billion or 3.2% of U.S. Goods and Services (The associated press). Hollywood has proven to be bias when it comes to politics. Whether it’s the actors or the director themselves, these people have political opinions that have been portrayed in their work. Many movies have situations in them that could persuade a viewer to think differently about politics. Researchers are trying to determine if the Hollywood influences on politics is causing viewers to change their political opinions and how much their opinions have been changed.

  4. The wealth gap between the top 10% and the rest, the 90%, in the United States has risen in an alarming rate and size in the last 25 years. The general consensus of government in modern America today is a negative one – the people believe they work for long hours, get little in return, and have little opportunity for upward mobility. By closing the gap, and sharing wealth equally between the CEOs and blue collar workers of America, the 90% of the population will no longer be exploited, and America can run efficiently to benefit all people despite their economic stance.
